The OMUG Picnic will be held on Tuesday, May 20th, at 6:30 p.m. in the main picnic area at Elmwood Park (see maps & aerial photo).
As always, the picnic is a pot-luck affair. Bring your favorite picnic fare to share with your fellow members and impress them with your culinary savoir-faire (that's French for "good stuff"). Just to make sure there is a reasonable variety, we suggest everyone bring one dish which falls more or less into the "main dish" category, and one which is more or less a dessert or side dish.
OMUG will provide soft drinks for everyone. (Plus plates, cups, napkins and utensils - but go ahead and bring your own if you prefer.)
As you may remember, there are basic charcoal grill thingies available there at Elmwood, so if you want to bring burgers, hot dogs, or even something more ambitious, go ahead. Make sure to bring your own charcoal, grill utensils, etc., however, as neither the park nor OMUG keep such things handy. Don't forget to allow enough time for your fire to get started and make coals if you are planning to use the park's grills!!
If you own and wish to use your own (portable) gas grill, feel free. The grills installed in thepark aren't the easiest in the world to use.
If you should happen to feel like bringing along your favorite outdoor toys (frisbee's, balls, boomerangs, squirt guns), we'll be glad to see them, but they're your own responsibility.
