Subject: Classic environment

Guys: I do not want to sell my soul to Gates, but I have to tell
you I'm about ready to tell APPLE where they can put their OS
x 10.2.8 software. I have tried just about everything but the
axe to get the classic environment to work. The only message
that I get is the following. "there is no volume with a
system folder that supports starting classic". and absolutely
no indication what needs to be done to get a volume setup so that
classic will run.
It shows me the disk and my partitions but they are grayed out so that I can not select any of them.
I DESPERATELY NEED AN EXPERT TO HELP IN FIGURING WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, since I'm not an expert in apple Mac and especially 10.2.8. I purchased a G3 beige minitower and am in the process of upgrading it. The current configuration is:
544 MB of ram, 266 MHZ clock speed, 80 GB hard disk, and MAC OS X 10.2.8 loaded. I have an older Performa 6115 CD that is maxed out as far as memory and hard drive. That system is running under OS 9.0.4 and because of memory and disk space I can not even upgrade to 9.1 or higher.
I tried tech support from both apple and the Vendor I purchased the memory from and hard disk with very little help. Is there any one locally that would be willing to help.
Thanks in advance
Loren L. Loibl
