Subject: Need a Mainstreet DVD user

I have a couple of G3 Revision 2 "Mainstreet" Powerbooks-sometimes mistaken for "Wallstreets", which was the previous incarnation. Anyway. one of the reasons I got these is to play DVDs. I have a DVD rom drive, and the DVD PCMCIA card, but no worky. : (

I SUSPECT that my DVD rom drive is not fully functional, but am hesitant to put more money into the machine without knowing what the problem is. Does ANYONE have a G3 Wallstreet or Mainstreet DVD or PCMCIA decoder card I can swap and try to diagnose the problem?
