Hello,
I am a mac user from Deshler NE, a small rural town by the KS border. I have been an avid Mac user for many years but I don't currently belong to any user group. There just isn't anyone out here.

The reason I am writing to you is in hope that someone might be able to find a way to help out a girl in my youth group at church. She is confined to a wheelchair due to MDS and spends a lot of time at her computer. We are currently working on a project to raise awareness of the AIDS crisis in Africa and as one part of that campaign, we are making a movie to get information to various groups and organizations.

This high school girl is the chair of that committee and she thought that she would be able to make movies on her Dell like the ones I have shown them using iMovie and iDVD. Of course she can't. As a matter of fact, her computer is giving her problems once again.

To make a long story short, I am trying to find a way to possibly get a mac Mini in her hands. Her family is not really in a position to buy another computer. Their house was totally destroyed by a tornado in the summer of 2003. Their family story made the front page of the Lincoln Journal Star. Is there anyone in the Mac community that could help her out? The ease, simplicity, and reliability of a Mac would be one small thing that would make her life easier.

Perhaps it is against the odds, but I am hoping to find someone who might be willing to donate something as simple as a Mac mini to her. I leave my personal information at the end of this message for anyone who would like to contact me.

I am trying to find a way to contact the right individuals at the corporate level of Apple. Perhaps someone in this user group might be able to point me to someone who could help.

Thank you for reading this message and I pray that someone will feel urged to act upon it.

Sincerely

Timothy Koester, PMA
