Trygve H. Inda, developer of the premier world time and mapping
tool, Time Palette, announces the immediate availability of EarthDesk
2.6, a free update to the wildly popular dynamic desktop map application.
EarthDesk replaces your static desktop picture with an animated, real-time rendered image of the Earth, continuously updating in the background while you work. The software supports eleven different map projections, political and satellite views, and renders accurate sun, moon and city lighting.
EarthDesk 2.6 now supports random map views, making for a much more varied and interesting desktop image. Additionally, the help system has been revised and polished to provide better ease-of-use under OS X 10.3.
EarthDesk requires a Macintosh computer with MacOS 9.1+ or MacOS X 10.1+.
Single user copies of EarthDesk may be purchased online for $19.95 while registered users of any release of EarthDesk version 1.x are eligible to upgrade to version 2.6 for $9.95. Users of EarthDesk 2.x need only download the new version with no fee.
